06/28/2009 Mammoth Mountain MX

Mammoth is such an awesome race I can’t believe it has been about 5 years since I have raced there.  In the past I have always had conflicts, but not this year.  I love this track, the atmosphere, anything and everything about the place. 

I finished 4th in the first moto and qualified for the main out of 37 riders.  In the main I had a terrible start and was about mid pack.  I was charging hard to make up positions with a total of 39 guys in my race.  On my 3rd of 10 laps I lost my back brakes, not good especially coming down the steep Mammoth mountain down hill.  It had 2 foot deep breaker bumps, pretty scary stuff with out back brakes.  I finished 10th.
